The botanical garden as a setting for wedding photography, fashion shoots, product shoots and other commercial shoots.

The Hortus is a popular setting for wedding, engagement, pregnancy or friendship photoshoots.
Advanced booking is required. The shoot costs € 125,-. This includes entrance for a group of 4 people. Other members of the party pay the regular entrance fee per person of € 13,50. This can be paid at the entrance, no need to make an advanced booking. You have to make a reservation for your preferred day and time, during opening hours. Keep in mind that the Hortus is open for the public, the areas are not private. We do not have changing rooms. It is not allowed to change clothes or do extended make up sessions in our greenhouses or in the toilets. The Hortus does not offer a photographer, you are required to hire your own.
Nearest parking is available in the parking lots Waterlooplein, Markenhoven, Artis or in the streets around the Hortus. When parking or standing still in the neighborhood, we ask you to be considerate of the local residents and to cause as little inconvenience as possible.

Please note! The Climate House will undergo renovations from February 2024 until 2025 and is therefore, unfortunately, not open to the public and/or photo shoots.
It’s possible to use the Hortus as a decor for fashion shoots, product shoots and other commercial shoots.
Productions for photo/film shoots for up to 10 people start at a rate of € 950 ex VAT per day part (4 hours). We do not offer discounts.
Every photo or film shoot must be announced and be confirmed by us beforehand. Any photo shoot or filming crew that has not been approved by our office can be refused entrance, requested to stop shooting, or will be billed afterwards.
The price stated is during opening hours of the Hortus (10:00 – 17:00). It’s not allowed to section off part of the garden or the greenhouses. Prices do not include accompanying Hortus staff.
It is not allowed to change clothes or do extended make up sessions in our greenhouses or in the toilets. A dressing room can be rented separately for € 465,- incl. VAT per day part (4 hours).
