In the midst of the busy city, the Hortus offers a spacious, green location with the unique decor of the botanical garden. The Hortus has various rooms available for your wedding ceremony, reception and party.
Get married in the most natural place of Amsterdam. Surrounded by special tropical plants, the Hortus is a unique location to tell each other ‘I do’.
The wedding ceremony can take place from 16:00 in the left wing of the Palm greenhouse. Outside the garden’s opening hours, so after 17:00, the wedding ceremony can also take place in the Palm greenhouse dome or on the terrace.

In the Orangery, two rooms and a beautiful terrace are available for receptions and dinners. The café with its high windows, exotic palms and wall coverings by artist Claudy Jongstra give the room a unique atmosphere. The glass doors give direct access to the large terrace under the evergreen oak. The Laranja Room, on the top floor of the Orangery, is also available for hire.
Treat guests to a guided tour of the garden during the event. Our guides will be happy to take visitors along special plants, night bloomers or centuries-old trees. It is possible to
choose a theme such as love or edible plants. Guided tours are available in various languages.
