Hortus by Night evenings are on:

December 19th to 23rd, December 27th to 30th and January 2nd to 8th, until 10:00 PM.

The Plant is Present: why humans and plants are alike

During Hortus by Night you literally step into the world of plants with this exhibition of Otherwise Collective. This is a collective of interdisciplinary artists with one mission: they want to bridge the gap between art, science and technology in order to visualize man’s relationship with the world around us. With their installation ‘The Plant is Present’ they show an interactive performance in which plants and people are equal protagonists. With your entrance ticket you also visit The Plant is Present installation for free.

On Thursday 22 December you can go to the Palmhouse for a real meet the makers: we’ll be having a talk with the artists of Otherwise Collective. What exactly moves them and what do they want to communicate with ‘The Plant is Present’?

Start is at 19:30, this ticket does not include entrance to our garden.

For the children there is an exciting storyteller by the fire on Wednesday evenings. Come and listen to fantastic tales, sagas and myths – with some tasty marshmallows within reach! Abe has been a storyteller for over twenty years. He tells his stories as if he were there himself. During Hortus by Night you can come and listen every Wednesday, from 17:00 to 18:00.

Suitable for children aged 6 – 12 (and for parents too!). Tickets do not include entrance.
